When the Eiffel tower in Paris was being constructed from 1887-1889 as the entrance to the 1889 World’s Fair, it received criticism from many leading French artists for its design, but now it has become a global icon for France.
This tower, which is one of the most photographed locations in the world, subtly provides us with a lesson. One should not stop chasing one’s dreams despite the challenges that may come in the way. If the construction of the spectacular tower had been halted because of the criticism it was receiving, would Eiffel ever have got the chance to prove its worth to the world?
